AccuScribe Transcription Services LLC

Quality Clinical Documentation

Company History

Our Founder and CEO

AccuScribe originated out of an immediate need for well-trained medical transcriptionists (MTs) in the Charleston tricounty area in May of 1996 by Mrs. Trudi A. Griffith, BSBM, CMT, AHDI-F. At the time, Mrs. Griffith was a 20-plus-year veteran in the healthcare and medical transcription industry.

Filling a Need

After developing and teaching a medical transcription continuing education course for Trident Technical College in 1994-1996, Mrs. Griffith discovered that after completing the required courses, the MT trainees were having difficulty finding employment. No one wanted to hire a new MT. As a result, Mrs. Griffith decided to recruit the trainees into her company and take on new accounts to complete their training and employability. After making this decision, AccuScribe experienced many years of on-average annual 100% growth rate and multiple internship programs have since been developed across the country with colleges experiencing the same difficulties placing trainees.

Keeping Up with the Healthcare Industry

In 2000, with the increased use of the internet in B2B transactions, AccuScribe moved to the a totally electronic transcription platform using an Internet-based transcription model. As one of the first companies to subscribe to this new concept of document creation and delivery, AccuScribe quickly saw the efficiency and value of using a Web-based transcription module as did the clients and faithful users.

Since this time, continuing development both in-house and outsourced has enabled AccuScribe to remain on the leading edge of technology implementation in the healthcare industry.  Today, AccuScribe remains on the leading edge of innovation in the creation of numerous specifically industry-related products.
